How to reset your iPhone passcode.

March 14, 2021

There are a number of different reasons why you might want to change the passcode on your iPhone The easiest is if you gave your passcode to someone as a backup and you no longer want them to be able to access your phone. Or, if you feel your phone has been hacked and you want to make sure all of your security checks are updated, you may want to update your passcode at the same time you’re changing your Apple ID.

No sweat. Simply go into “Settings” and scroll down to “Touch ID & Passcode.” You’ll need to use your current passcode to sign in, you can simply scroll down to “Change Passcode” and follow the prompts from there.

Now for the hard part. If you need to change your passcode because you forgot it, the steps involved with fixing the problem are a little more involved. Maybe you recently reset your passcode and forgot which one you used. Or maybe you haven’t used your device in a while and your memory fails you. If you enter the wrong passcode too many times, your phone will be temporarily disabled. If you eventually get the passcode right, all is good. If not, there are other steps you can take

Either way, if you’ve been habitually backing your iPhone up, it’s just a matter of restoring your data after you restore your iPhone.
