Apple Watch problems you can fix yourself
December 24, 2019
The Apple Watch is an amazing piece of technology that can put a world of conveniences literally at your fingertips. It’s like having a fully functional mini-computer strapped to your wrist. However, as good as technology is, it sometimes needs a little human interaction to make sure everything is running as smoothly as possible. Here are the most common issues people typically have with their Apple Watches and what you can do to get things back on track.
– Connectivity issues. If you’re having trouble connecting to your iPhone, a known WiFi network, or a Long Term Evolution (LTE) connection:
o Phone communication: Turn off Bluetooth on your Apple Watch and your iPhone, then switch both back on. If this doesn’t do the trick, restart both devices to see if they can re-establish the connection.
o LTE connections. Start by toggling Airplane mode on then off. If this doesn’t fix the problem, restart your Apple Watch
o WiFi networks. If your iPhone is not around, your Apple Watch will try to connect to a known network. Check to make sure it is the network you want to use. If your iPhone is around and your Apple Watch is trying to connect through it, make sure your iPhone is connected to the proper network.
– Battery issues. If your Apple Watch battery appears to be draining faster than you’d like between charges, there are a few things you can do to slow the roll:
o Power Saver. The first thing you can do is to enable the power saving mode in the Apple Watch app. Be warned that doing so will disable your heart rate sensor from activating while you are working out. It will also make your calorie burn feature less accurate. Go to Workout to engage Power Saving Mode.
o WiFi. If enabling the power mode isn’t helping as much as you like, you can limit notifications by disabling WiFi.
o Reboot. If all else false, try a reboot by turning your Apple Watch off, then back on again. There may be a glitch in the system that can repair itself when the watch restarts.
